RAPID FLU,COVID-19 & STREP TESTING AND TREATMENT

We are proud to offer a variety of testing and treatment services at Schaffner Pharmacy. Our goal is to provide the highest quality care for our patients and to do it quickly and conveniently. We can test and treat positive results (when appropriate) so you can get on the road to recovery. Skip the wait at urgent care and make an appointment with us. Same day appointments are available.

Skip the long wait at urgent care. Our testing is done entirely through our drive-thru. You don’t even need to leave your car (in fact, we’d prefer it if you didn’t to protect our patients and staff). Our pharmacists will come to your car, perform the test and a brief evaluation. We get you tested and on your way in just a few minutes. We will then contact you, usually within 20 minutes, to discuss the results and possible treatments if applicable.

Please bring your insurance card to your appointment. Cash price for testing/treatment is $150. Uninsured patients may be eligible for free testing through a grant with the Washington State Pharmacy Association. We will bill your medical insurance for the testing and evaluation services as well as your prescription insurance for any treatment, should you choose to fill the prescription with us. Copays and deductibles may apply. Unfortunately, we are unable to bill Medicare for testing/treatment as patient care services provided by pharmacists are not covered by Medicare. Medicare patients may elect to seek testing/treatment elsewhere or pay the $150 fee. Medicare Advantage plans may cover these services.

All tests are performed in our drive-thru to minimize exposure to staff. Flu and Covid tests are performed using a nasal swab. The swab is only inserted an inch or less and is very comfortable. No brain tickling with these tests! Strep throat tests are throat swabs (naturally!). We may also take blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, and pulse oximetry as part of the evaluation.

We will call you after your results are ready, usually within 20 minutes (antigen) to discuss the results and possible treatment options.

Depending on availability our Rapid Antigen test is either the BD Veritor System for Rapid Detection of SARS-CoV-2 and Flu A+B, Abbott BinaxNow COVID-19 Ag Card or the CareStart COVID-19 Rapid Diagnostic Test. Some, but not all destinations will accept these tests for travel. Check with your airline/destination.
